February Preschool Morning Bins

From shapes to letter sounds to number concepts, this month is packed with hands-on activities to help your little ones learn. Morning Bin #1: Rhyming and Syllables

Students say the words and match the words that rhyme.

Morning Bin #2: Sounds

Students roll a die and cover an item that begins with that letters sound.

Morning Bin #3: Letters

Students find and match the lowercase letter to the uppercase letter.

Morning Bin #4: Sequence

Students will look at the first and last events and decide which one goes in between. Then they will explain what is happening in each picture.

Morning Bin #5: Letter Printing

Students roll a die and trace a letter in that column.

Morning Bin #6: Sorting by Concept/Vocab

Students will decide if the item is food or not food.

Morning Bin #7: Finding Details

Students will look at the picture and match the parts that are missing.

Morning Bin #8: Name

Students will put the letters of their name in order and connect them with yarn or links.

Morning Bin #9: Patterns

Students will look at the ABB or AAB pattern and decide which color comes next.

Morning Bin #10: Count Sequence

Students will make a path from 1 to 10 on the board.

Morning Bin #11: Making and Counting Groups

Students will flip a card and feed the monster the same number of pom-poms or other manipulatives.

Morning Bin #12: Shapes

Students will spin the spinner and cover the shape on the board.

Morning Bin #13: Measurement

Students will pick 3 cards and put the cacti in order from shortest to tallest.

Morning Bin #14: Colors

Students will take turns spinning the spinner and moving their piece to the color on the board.

Morning Bin #15: Numerals

Students will spin the spinner and trace the numeral on the board.

Morning Bin #16: Comparing

Students will count the items on each side and clip the side that has more.

Morning Bin #17: Life Skills

Students will decide if the item is healthy or unhealthy for their teeth and clip the correct tooth.

Morning Bin #18: Social Emotional

Students will look at the picture, clip whether the action is kind or unkind, and say what a better action would be if the action is unkind.

Morning Bin #19: Fine Motor

Students will use snap cubes to create the picture.

Morning Bin #20: Dramatic Play

This has to be one of my favorite dramatic play bins so far! Students will use their imaginations and the items to pretend that they are a dentist or a patient at a dental office. This bin comes complete with an intake sheet, dental tools, office signs, and brushing and flossing practice! Plus, introduce your students to Captain Fluoride and Mr. Cavity Corn to help explain choices to keep our teeth clean and healthy!

*This is an open-ended play activity.  The offered materials can be set up in a variety of ways.  Get creative and have fun!
