Hour of Code™ with Minecraft Education!
December 6th-12th is Computer Science Education Week! Take this opportunity to grow computational thinking and creative problem-solving skills to prepare learners for 21st-century careers.
To support basic coding literacy, Minecraft Education Edition has unveiled its new Hour of Code
lesson based on mysterious happenings throughout history. Travel back in time with Timecraft. The lesson content can be on the Minecraft Education website. The Minecraft world is in the Minecraft Education program on your students’ devices. You will see “Hour of Code” immediately when logging into Minecraft on the homepage.
In addition to Minecraft Education, Code.org has hundreds of activities tailored from Kindergarten to High School for you to use in the classroom. These activities can be easily sorted by grade level, subject content, and device availability (including no devices, which are referred to as “unplugged activities”).
For support in choosing, set-up, or hosting an activity, reach out to your local TTIS. Be sure to tweet on Twitter about your classroom experience using these hashtags: #HourOfCode, #CobbStem, #CobbIntech.
